Hyper Corp. and Paltek Form Joint Venture

Pleasanton, California February 12, 2001- Hyper Corporation (Pleasanton, California) and Paltek Corporation (JASDAQ:7587) today announced that the two companies have established a joint venture company, HYPER-PALTEK Corporation. This joint venture will certify that Bluetooth equipment and products meet the Bluetooth specifications, and authorize use of the Bluetooth logo. HYPER-PALTEK corporation was created to meet the growing needs for Bluetooth qualification services in Japan. The qualification process is required for all products that claim to meet Bluetooth standards. HYPER-PALTEK Corporation will provide Bluetooth qualification services to product manufactures, making the complex process of bringing products with Bluetooth wireless technology to market faster and easier.

Hyper Corp. is the first appointed Bluetooth Qualification Body (BQB) in North America. President Kurt B. Fischer has already completed several Bluetooth qualifications, including the first Bluetooth qualified product, BlueVision, the software of Widcomm, Inc. Hyper will bring to the Joint Venture their expertise to help understand the needs of manufactures, to work as their partners and advocate in the Qualification Process. Services include preparation of documentation, development of Test Plan, check of Test Plan, Product Testing, BQB Review of Compliance Folder, and BQB Product Listing. All services are offered both in English and Japanese.

Up until now, Paltek Corporation has conducted consulting business for this Bluetooth Qualification process and already has a track record with a number of large manufactures in Japan. All consulting and Bluetooth Qualification Services will now be handled by HYPER-PALTEK, which anticipates completing several qualifications during 2001, generating sales of over 100 million yen by the end of year. Also within the year, a fully equipped laboratory with testing equipment is to be in place, as HYPER-PALTEK will operate a Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF). Until this is established, HYPER-PALTEK will use the test facility owned by Hyper Corporation in California.
