Prominent Academic Richard F. Fleck's first novel available in time for St. Patrick's Day!
Dr. Fleck, noted for his studies of John Muir, Thoreau, and other prominent American literary figures, has just had his first novel published with Uk, Ireland and US house Domhan Books.
Clearing of the Mist is the story of two IRA gunmen on the run in 1972 during the height of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, who find an old diary in the tumbledown cottage they are taking shelter in. The diary recounts the author Brian McBride's experiences during the Famine, and in the Old West as he emigrates to America and struggles for survival.
The book is fascinating not only for its details of life during the Famine, but also for the parallels which Dr. Fleck draws between the Irish people's experiences under the British, and the Native Americans' with the expansionists in the United States.
Dr. Fleck is delighted to be able to bring his knowledge of history to bear in an exciting and entertaining way for readers in the new millennium.
Clearing of the Mist is available in hardcover $1583459375, 19.95, and paperback 1583459383, $13.95 from Domhan Books, Bn.com, Amazon, and all fine booksellers using the ISBN.
