Quebec City, March 7, 2001 -- GeoCom TMS, leader in transportation management systems, and Telegeotrak Technologies, a high-technology firm specializing in the positioning of mobile assets through GPS, today announced a strategic partnership that now makes it possible to provide a state-of-the-art solution to track maintenance vehicles. This joint solution is designed to address the needs of asset tracking management and maintenance fleets for winter roads (Public Works).
For its part, GeoCom TMS provides GeoNav, its powerful application for fleet tracking, monitoring and positioning as well as mobile messaging, while Telegeotrak Technologies integrates GeoNav to its product to provide turnkey solutions. Telegeotraks TGP module uses GPS-based technology which features advanced on-board solutions for mobile assets (trailers, containers) tracking in real-time or batch mode, in addition to ongoing Internet access as well as 2-way communication.
These two integrated solutions allow efficient vehicle fleet and mobile asset tracking as well as the monitoring of several parameters such as speed, salt-spreading flow rate, road temperature, plow or sweeper positioning, in real-time or batch mode, etc.
