PaulaWalla Saves Environment

Windsor, CT - PaulaWalla.com, an importing retail business, is encouraging its customers to reuse and recycle their packaging materials. The new program, begun by owner Paula M. Pierce, asks customers to repack the bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts that come in their PaulaWalla orders and mail them back. The postage they pay, up to $2 each occurrence, is then credited on the customer's next order. Pierce says, "The process is painless."

Pierce began considering a recycling program when customers started sending back packaging materials on their own. "Recycling benefits everybody, and some people are just fanatical about it!" says Pierce, "I think I may be one of them. I cannot stand throwing anything away that can be reused. Sometimes you have to get creative and think of new ways to use your resources. Our zebra striped candles come in boxes that are too small to reuse for shipping or storage, so we're going to start seeds in them for our garden!"

"I just can't see adding more plastic bubble wrap and styrofoam to the landfills and incinerators if we can avoid it. It just kills me to see it in the trash," says Pierce. PaulaWalla customers and even people who have never bought from PaulaWalla before, are mailing in packaging materials that they receive from other vendors. "It's great. Let's keep this stuff out of the trash," says Pierce. "Hopefully this stuff will keep making the rounds until all the bubbles in the bubble wrap are popped. If anyone knows a use fo flat bubble wrap, let me know. We have to plan for the future!"
