Indie Rock group, Emmett Brown, Champions the CyberSpace Conservation Movement
TAMPA, FL- April 9, 2001 -- SaveCyberSpace.org, founders of the Internet Conservation Movement, have chosen Emmett Browns latest single, Bandwidth Conservation Society", as the official anthem of the first annual CyberDay to be held on April 23, 2001.
CyberDay 1.0 is being held to raise awareness of the rapid demise of CyberSpace, one of nature's most precious man-made resources.
Were honored to be the official band for a movement as important as this one. Each member of Emmett Brown is deeply concerned that excessive bandwidth consumption poses a serious threat to the future of the Internet. We want to make sure Cyberspace will be around for our kids," says bassist Charles Cote.
Bandwidth Conservation Society" is a quick, upbeat number that hearkens back to a Beatles-era vibe and social consciousness. It can be downloaded for free in MP3 format from SaveCyberSpace.org or mp3.com/emmettbrown.
BCS is under two and a half minutes long," says guitarist Will Cote. We wanted to create a song that took up very little bandwidth and was as cyber-friendly as possible. We didnt want to add to the Internet congestion by creating a long song," adds Will.
CyberSpace conservationists will show their support for CyberDay 1.0 by disconnecting from the Internet for one hour starting at noon local time on Monday, April 23rd, 2001.
