ECONOMICAL NEW DATA COLLECTION SOFTWARE FOR ROCKWELL PLCs
WEBDOCK NEWS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nashville, Tennessee - April 9, 2001. A data collection software package, WebDock DataPort, being introduced by WebDock, features standard Microsoft database connectivity for collecting data from Rockwells Allen-Bradley PLC and SLC controllers. Communicating through industry standard RSLinx software, up to 10 PLCs can be connected and a total of 150 points can be logged to either a standard MS Access file format or to a MS SQL Server database. The software is priced at (US)$600.
WebDock DataPort software is configured to make a connection to Microsoft SQL Server Version 6.5 or higher, or the software generates an internal file with the Microsoft Access standard file format extension (.mdb). The logged data can be analyzed with any of the tools that are available with SQL Server and Access or with the DataViewer component included with WebDock DataPort. Thus, the software can be used as a self-contained data collection tool or with MS Access or SQL Server. The software provides a configuration wizard for setting up the connections to RSLinx and to the data tables.
