New Website Focuses Exclusively on Business Models And Seeks Write-ups
Business Model X is started after founders are unable to find a good website that focuses exclusively on business model related content and community. It is the Internet's first website dedicated to business model innovation.
Business Model X went online last week as the Internets first website dedicated to business model innovation.
The site contains articles, commentaries and other resources that focus exclusively on business models and related subjects, mostly from consultants and seasoned business people.
Its initial base of articles came from a core group of volunteers, and has been very well received that the site is now poised to address the growing demand for its content by showcasing articles from volunteers who wish to share their experiences, ideas and insight relating to different aspects of business model development with the sites users, who are generally executives and professionals from tech-oriented companies. The goal is of building a community that is built on the collaboration and development of business models.
We saw a need for a site that focused exclusively on this important niche," said Nicholas Mercader, the sites publisher. In the current harsh capital environment, while others were talking about the death of business models, we felt the need and urgency of the opposite: that the development of strong and sustainable business models are even more important today than ever."
Mercader added that While other sites focused on the demise of new-economy companies, as well as on the trials and tribulations of new-economy workers, we felt the need for a site for entrepreneurs and executives. A site that had resources for managers and officers, which included relevant information and insight for their own business and success through the right business design and structure in the form of good business plans and sustainable business models. Just as architects and engineers design the structure of buildings, we want Business Model X to be the place that people use to gain information, insight and collaborate with other users in discussing and developing business models."
Business Model X started as an email-only newsletter called the Business Model Insider, which covered news, ideas, concepts and insight into the development of business models. Today Business Model X covers a similar thrust but now has a wider, deeper scope that is still very much focused on business models.
