Research Shows Web Surfers Willing to Switch to Local Internet Service Providers

Jupiter, FL-April 26, 2001--A majority of research companies are doing surveys on Internet Service Provider churn rates. Churning is the rate at which subscribers leave ISPs. Customers are showing dissatisfaction with their ISPs by switching to competitors who are wooing them with better product offerings and lower fees.

According to ISPworld, the typical ISP loses 4 to 8 percent of subscribers per month. This can add up to 96 percent a year. Main reasons for churnover include price, speed and better customer support.

Dotcom.com surveyed over 900 ISP churners about what made them switch to their current ISP. The results revealed live customer support was most important, 25% of customers switched host providers because of better product/service offerings from another ISP. 17% switched because of lower fees. Initial sign up price, low monthly fees, and reputation also ranked high in importance.

Local ISPs have a reputation for having lower drop and connection rates than the well-know national providers. ISFL.net, a local ISP in Jupiter, Florida provides access to nationwide POP locations, easy sign-up, in-house technical/customer support and is cost efficient at only $15.00 a month.

Working with Web2You, Inc., ISFL is offering Internet access at a much lower price than most are paying their current ISP. Founded in 1998, Web2You enables organizations to become an Internet Service Provider (ISP) without having to invest in equipment or staff. Web2You clients focus on marketing and sales while Web2You handles all of the technical aspects including design and implementation, customer service, technical support and even the billing.
