LiveWire Contacts, TAXI and Songsalive! Added As Sponsors of MusicDish Songwriter Report Series
New York, NY - May 30, 2001 - Eric de Fontenay, founder & CEO of music industry e-publisher and consultancy Tag It, announced that web-based, information management provider LiveWire Contacts, independent A&R compan, TAXI, and Songsalive!, a non-profit ongwriting organisation, had joined USA Songwriting Competition and Songwriters Directory as sponsors of the MusicDish Songwriter Report Series. Based on the online survey conducted from April 16 to May 13 at music industry e-Journal MusicDish, the reports are meant to provide an in-depth perspective on the state and evolution of the songwriting industry today.
"Surveys are an excellent method of getting to the bottom of what people think," said LiveWire Contacts CEO and Co-Founder, Jaime d'Almeida. "LiveWire Contacts supports these reports because they go to the source for that information - the songwriter."
The first report in the series, "20 Questions With The Songwriting Community," was released today through the MusicDish site at http://www.musicdish.com/survey/songwriter/. The report features 20 key results from the 46 question survey, including respondents experiences with music publishers, events such as song camps and songwriting workshops, and information-based resources.
"Songsalive! is very much behind Tag it and the Songwriter Report Series to create a stronger, global awareness about the importance of songwriting in the music business, and to nurture the songwriters, the key to any successful artist and album," said founder and President of Songsalive!, Gilli Aliotti.
"We've been very pleased, not only with the response to this project, but the caliber of the organizations stepping forward to support research that provides data and analysis to the songwriting community," said Eric de Fontenay. "Understanding songwriters' perceptions of organizations and activities meant to support their career is the first step in implementing concrete steps to empowering songwriters, those organizations and the broader music industry.
