VirtuallyEverAfter.com Creator to Live Happily Ever After
Online dating site creator meets love of his life online, couple married on May 26.
Denver resident and creator of the online dating website VirtuallyEverAfter.com, Troy Surratt, got married on May 26, 2001. Interestingly enough, Troy married someone he met through the site -- Karilyn Kristine Ewing.
"Designing this site turned out to be a great business and personal decision. A single guy like me couldn't have found a better way to make a living... and a new life."
Surratt says he created the site out of frustration from using some of the other personals sites on the net. He wanted to find a new approach.
"The sites out there are great for meeting new people. It's really helpful to read about someone and exchange emails, but typically you're in for lots of surprises if you decide to eventually meet in person. That's what I went through. Lots of first dates that didn't live up to expectations and essentially ended what had been a growing friendship online."
VirtuallyEverAfter.com ambitiously tries to simulate a first date online, and only allows potential suitors a member's contact information if the virtual date went well. Members enter all sorts of questions, scenarios, and ratings. Visitors choose where they'd like to go on their virtual date and answer the questions while waiting for the virtual food to arrive. If a member doesn't like the answers, the computer will let the other party down gently for you.
If nothing else the site saves time and energy. Members don't have to go through the typical online dating procedures of repeating all of their basic information (age, occupation, hobbies, etc.) over and over again to everyone they meet in cyberspace. They simply enter all the basics (and their important relationship criteria) into the system once and can direct any new suitors to go on their saved virtual date to learn more about them and determine if they might be a good match.
No date tonight? Try your luck at VirtuallyEverAfter.com where you can go on virtual dates with some interesting real people. You might be as lucky as the site's creator.
If you'd like to read more about their cyber romance, the couple setup an online engagement announcement complete with photos (http://www.hiaspire.com/wedding). What else would you expect?
