Virus Guardian FREE Email Alert Service
This is one of the most dangerous situation I
have seen in the last 5 years. You should read
the next message very carefully.
It's not a virus, but it's obviously a dangerous
situation. It's a malicious trick to steal your
Yahoo! email account USERNAME and PASSWORD.
I have received the following email :
From : becky_123x@yahoo.com
Subject : Hey Stranger...
Message :
Sorry I haven;t been online in a while....here
are those pics i promised you...let me know what
you think!!!! bye MYPICS.JPG
Description :
The "MYPICS.JPG" is a "text link" that lead to a
FAKE Yahoo! Email login page. The page is NOT the
real Yahoo! Email login page. IT IS A COPY hosted
on another server. But you can still enter all
your info as usual like login name and password.
If you do so and "click" on submit, instead of
login into your Yahoo! account as expected, the
submit button actually trigger a simple "mailto:"
HTML tag and all your info are send to :
flashconklin@yahoo.com
So now, "flashconklin" got your Yahoo! ID and
password to access your Yahoo account. Ouch !
So to ALL Yahoo users, be very carefull with
that one.
Safely yours,
Karl Vallee
