Phocis (www.phocis.com) a leading developer of secure solutions that manage and control the exchange of valuable and sensitive digital information, announced it is launching its new and innovative digital security solution Secure Digital eXchange (SDX). SDX is a real-time web-based service that allows organisations to secure and manage the rights to use digital information throughout its lifetime wherever it resides.

The solution has been developed to address the ever-increasing risks that organisations expose themselves to by sending confidential and valuable information via email and other messaging services. Although some security technologies attempt to ensure that the information is delivered, there are no guarantees what happens to the information after it has been delivered and control of the information is effectively lost. The information could be forwarded to third parties for whom it was not intended, or the information could be misused and exploited, increasing company directors exposure to corporate liability.

By using SDX the information remains inside its secure ‘e-Package at all times and the sender is able to control the content access rights, read/copy/print privileges and monitor who accesses the information throughout its lifetime. This ensures that communications remain private and the risk of confidentiality breaches or copyright infringement is significantly reduced.

Many organisations already understand that a key requirement of any corporate security policy is training and education. SDX re-enforces these messages, its security levels can be integrated into security policies to ensure that employees send confidential or sensitive material using an appropriate SDX security level and that the person receiving the information is subject to the assigned security levels.
