GOOD-INK RECORDS CELEBRATES TWO YEAR ROCK 'N ROLL RIDE
Good-Ink Records is thrilled and only slightly amazed to announce we'll be turning TWO on July 1, 2001, with ten releases under our belts! Featuring artists like Carrie Akre, Sweet Water, Goodness, Blue Spark and more, how could we go wrong?
JUNE 21st, 2001 (PRWEB) June 24, 2001 -- Has it been two years? Why yes it has. Seems like only yesterday we were getting together and starting a label up, flinging raspberry-filled cake around the Sit-n-Spin celebrating Blue Spark's first record, bidding farewell to Goodness at their final CD release show ...... But enough nostalgia! It's 2001, and that means ....
Good-Ink Records is thrilled and only slightly amazed to announce we'll be turning TWO on July 1, 2001. This past year has been incredible, start to finish. We released Carrie Akre's debut solo record "Home" to an amazing response, culminating in December with KMTT 103.7 The Mountain naming Home one of their Top 10 records of 2000! On top of that Amazon.com named Carrie "Emerging Artist of the Year". It was and continues to be a fun ride, and it ain't over yet.
In the midst of this we were also happy to release the debut record from our friend and partner Deanna Knudsen. Her EP "Mayfair Days" is a beautiful collection of songs we're proud to have in our catalog.
And now we've reached another milestone, just recently releasing our TENTH record. Kim Virant's 'Stealing Days' joins the family, a stellar album featuring some of Seattle's finest and most accomplished artists, and a great solo sound from Lazy Susan's vocalist. We're just getting started on that one, but rest assured you'll be hearing lots more about it soon.
Looking forward to the next year and beyond, we see forthcoming releases by Blue Spark, Timo Ellis, Carrie Akre, Garth Reeves and more. We're excited about what we've been able to accomplish thus far, and we can't wait to open the door to our next year and our next ten records!
About Good-Ink Records:
Good-Ink Records today is the sum of many things: the experiences of its founders, the ideals of the four partners, and the deep desire to create a label that really does support the artists it represents. Founding partners Carrie Akre and Garth Reeves played in Goodness, a band that burst onto the Seattle scene in 1994. With the aid of long-time Goodness webmasters and friends Terry Granillo and Deanna Knudsen, Good-Ink Records hit the ground running. It was clear that the energy and unique skills of the four people involved were at the core of Good-Ink's rapid success, and recognizing this, Carrie and Garth invited both Deanna and Terry on board as partners in the Fall of 1999. Garth and Carrie brought with them industry expertise and experience, Deanna a huge talent for media development and project management, and Terry skills in accounting and business, creating a well-oiled label machine.
