(June 25, 2001 – Los Angeles, California)A new technology to protect kids and adults on-line is receiving Media attention for its unique solution to Internet dangers. This service makes use of an interactive database of positive ID Profiles so that parents can be assured that kids really are talking to other kids, not to the pedophiles that prowl the Internet looking for prey.
Additionally, this service makes Internet meetings between adults a much safer proposition, eliminating the troubles caused by the Alias nature of the Internet.
Paul Hook, the founder of www.TheGuardianAngel.com was invited to KABC TV Los Angeless studios to tape an upcoming Cyber 7" segment as the result of a BBC (British Broadcasting Company) feature on Internet Safety, which included a link to TheGuardianAngel.com.
During discussions prior to taping the segment (scheduled to air on 6/29) Edd Adamko, ABCs Executive Producer, and Ellen Leyva, Morning Anchor and the Interviewer for the Cyber 7 segment, were impressed enough with an explanation of the program that they have invited him to return for more segment tapings in order to capture the comprehensive nature of the web site.
Thanks to that BBC piece, and ABC TVs invitation, we are now being invited to other stations", says Paul, "and the timing couldnt be better".
The timing, speaking of TheGuardianAngel.coms campaign for Internet Safety Awareness and the development of their Positive ID PKI and Server Certificate program which is soon to be released.
The Company has aggressive and innovative plans for their Internet Safety Awareness campaign, which is in its early stages at this time, but received a fast start thanks to the media attention. They are asking that anyone with Internet involvement and a concern for Internet Safety contact them to find out how they can participate.
The PKI and Server Certificate program will make the following possible:
· Positive Age group authentication logons for web site operators for COPPA compliance.
· Positive ID authentication for the financial industry and their customers.
· Positive ID authentication for Chat servers, Bulletin Boards, and any other service providers that want to provide extra security to their users.
Registration in this program as it exists today includes positive ID verification through either a notary public or a police officer. As a part of the verification process, Police officers are asked to sign a registration form including his/her badge number, agency, and telephone number. There are other verification procedures that are performed as well, assuring those who utilize the service that they are not being deceived.
Once registered, members(or their parents) can authorize specific people to view their profile, which includes a photo.
When you ,or your kids have made an acquaintance online and you want to be sure, members can ask this new acquaintance if they are registered in the program. If they are not registered, the member can tell them they want to be safe; they can recommend that they go register and arrange a view of their profile before they spend, or allow their child to spend, much time getting to know them.
