Westland, MI--May 7th--Nederman begins manufacture of a new fume extraction arm, the Windshield Adhesive Extractor Arm.
Nederman, Inc. introduces a new fume extraction arm for windshield repair shops. The arm is specially designed for the extraction of smoke and vapors created when replacing a windshield. Vapors and smoke from this process contain isocyanates which are harmful to your body, all exposure should be avoided.
The rectangular hood covers windshields on any car or truck and is mounted on a flexible extractor arm with a range of 13 ft. The hood is made of transparent polyester, designed for optimum air velocity through slots around the hood. The arm can be placed near the windshield or at the bench next to the car where the new windshield is primed before installation. The hood is used as follows:
1. When removing the old windshield--capture smoke and vapors from the removal of the old glue.
2. When adding primer to the new windshild and the frame.
3. When adding glue to the windshild frame to capture the vapors.
4. When the flue is setting, normally 3-4 hours time to capture the vapors.
The unit weighs 35 lbs and can be ordered with a variety of accessories to suit your needs. You can install a fan or connect to a central system. Mounting options include, wall, ceiling or floor with a 3 or 7 bracket. You can install a silencer to reduce the sound level of the fan by 4 dB(A).
