RS-232 Interfacing Capability Added to DigiWx Weather Station
Belfort Instrument Company announced today the availability of a wireless RS-232 interface box for use with DigiWx, the first automated digital weather reporting station to utilize portable handheld receivers to display local meteorological data. Wind, temperature, dewpoint, relative humidity and barometric pressure measurements are transmitted up to 10 nm from the base weather station to the desktop RS-232 receiver which can also be mounted in the cockpit. ASCII weather data (eg. wind direction, wind speed/gusts, etc.) can be archived on a PCs hard drive using ProCommPlus or MesoTechs PC-7000 software for later verification of the local weather conditions for any given day, time and location.
Belfort Instrument Company announced today the availability of a wireless RS-232 interface box for use with DigiWx, the first automated digital weather reporting station to utilize portable handheld receivers to display local meteorological data. The wireless RS-232 interface box can be serially connected to the COM port found on most personal computers (PCs) to collect and/or display real-time weather data. Weather data can also be seamlessly imported into most commercial Ag/GPS flight systems for live display of current meteorological conditions in the cockpit. The RS-232 receiver can be powered by an optional 28/12 volt cockpit converter or via 110 volt AC/DC power adapter when used on the ground. The unit measures 5-1/4" (W) x 7-1/4" (L) x 2-1/4" (H) and it weighs 15 oz with antenna. The RS-232 interface box retails for $595.00 US dollars. 1-800-937-2353
