SwapSmarts.com sets a minimum charge of 10 cents per answer
SwapSmarts, an expert advice marketplace where knowledge is traded for expert advice, cash, gifts or charity announced today that it is changing its minimum per answer fee from free to 10 cents per question.
Since SwapSmarts launched in February 2001, it has placed free and pay experts side by side in its listings. This change means that all experts who currently charge less than 10 cents per answer will be set to a minimum per question charge of 10 cents.
"We feel that in order to further promote the concept of micropayments, we needed to take this step" said our COO, Steve Brown "We feel that the difference between free and 10 cents on the internet is much greater than the difference between 1 dollar and 2 dollars. Since we believe in the pay for quality content model, there are other venues for free advice"
In addition, they are continuing to give one (1) free SmartBuck (valued at one (1) US dollar), to everyone who joins SwapSmarts as either an expert (who can ask and answer questions) or a member (who can ask questions). SwapSmarts will also give away one free SmartBuck to everyone who recommends them to a friend, who then signs up as a member or expert.
"We continue to give away a free SmartBuck to all new users who sign up, and additional SmartBucks for people who refer friends and family who sign up, so new users get at least 10 free questions from experts who used to charge less than 10 cents" says Brown.
