VALIDEA TO PROVIDE STOCK ANALYSIS TOOLS FOR INVESTORS ON NASDAQ.COM
Validea strikes a deal with nasdaq.com to provide them with proprietary investment tools.
NEW YORK (July 16, 2001): Validea, a leading investment research company, today announced it will provide Nasdaq.com, the primary Web site of The Nasdaq Stock Market, with new stock analysis tools. Now, Nasdaq.com customers will be able to quickly monitor investment ideas made in the financial media and instantly evaluate them using Validea's innovative research applications.
The agreement provides Nasdaq.com customers with access to the "Guru Analysis," which can be found in the Quotes section of the companys Web site and "Media Buzz," located in the Company News section. Users of the Guru Analysis will be empowered with simulated investment philosophies of the world's most astute investment minds, such as Peter Lynch, Martin Zweig, and David Dreman. The tool, through a series of sophisticated algorithms, quickly calculates the interest level of each stock based on the interpretation of each "guru's" published methodology. In addition to the deep analytical functionality provided by the Guru Analysis, the Media Buzz contains an aggregation of over 60,000 investment ideas from over 5,000 of Wall Street's most distinguished experts. These experts hail from some of the financial industry's most prominent financial outlets, including CNBC, Barron's, Fortune, Forbes, MSN Moneycentral, The New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. In a unique and easy-to-use application, investors can read the latest buzz on their favorite stock in a short synopsis of each article in which it was mentioned positively or negatively.
"Nasdaq.com is a first-rate distribution channel, and we're looking forward to servicing their investment community," says Keith M. Ferry, president of Validea. "The addition of our proprietary set of tools into Nasdaq.com's existing suite of applications facilitates the investment research process, enabling users to quickly and easily make more informed and accurate investment decisions."
"As a leading online source for financial information, Nasdaq.com is always looking for new features to add to the valuable and in-depth information on the financial markets and investing we offer users," said Don Bosic, senior vice president, Nasdaq® Interactive Services. "Guru analysis is proving to be one of the more popular investment tools on the Nasdaq.com Web site. With Guru Analysis, the everyday investor can determine the interest level of a stock based on the interpretation of eight of the most renowned investment philosophies. The investor can also research why a company meets the interpretation of a gurus investment criteria."
Among the other tools integrated on Nasdaq.com's site is the "Guru Stock Screener," a screening tool that uses artificial intelligence to output stocks that meet the criteria of the published methodologies of multiple "gurus." Nasdaq.com users can also see the latest investment recommendations made in the media with the "New Stock Picks" tool, which can be located under the heading "Media Coverage" in the Investor Tools section. These "idea generation" type offerings round out Nasdaq.com's product suite and aid in the findings of new investment ideas.
