104 FM Goes 2 Mobile

Hot on the heels of market research confirming that the explosion in text messaging is set to continue among Irelands Generation Text comes news of a significant new deal between 104FM and Go2mobile for advanced text messaging services.

104FM – Dublins most listened to radio station will be using text messaging primarily for competitions and voting but will also be rolling out the service for use by their advertisers too.

Helene Kelly, Marketing Manager of 104FM, explained at the announcement of the deal that Text messaging is fun, instant and appeals to our core market – Irelands 18-24 mobile generation. We see it as a highly flexible and cost-effective communications tool and look forward to developing exciting promotions with the Go2mobile service".

Go2mobile service scored top marks on the flexibility of the product (it can be very easily tailored to suit a clients specific campaign requirements) and on the track record of the company which lists RTE and 7C among its high-profile clients. Reliability and full technical support was considered by 104FM to be an essential element of the winning companys offering, and Go2mobiles experienced technical support team met the brief on all counts.

Go2mobile first entered the Irish market in early 1998 – long before the meteoric rise in text messaging – and has grown steadily to become the leading supplier of mobile marketing and communications solutions in Ireland. Go2mobile supplies advanced services to blue-chip clients such as Microsoft, Aer Lingus.

We are only seeing the beginning of this technology", said Go2mobiles Sales Director Tom Doherty, It has exploded across Japan and Northern Europe and now that Go2mobile is offering equally advanced services in Ireland, we expect to see massive innovation - particularly in its use as a marketing tool - in the coming 12 months."
