Hollywood comes to Staten Island Saturday. Kevin James, Stephen and Billy Baldwin and many more

Numerous Hollywood celebrities are coming to Staten Island Saturday (6PM) to benefit New Yorks own Project ALS. Celebrities such as movie stars William Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin; music and film star Meat Loaf; Jason Gedrick starring in just-opened Summer Catch" movie, television star Jonathan Silverman plus soap opera stars John Callahan and Mark Consuelos (Al My Child). Even a New York-to-Hollywood-to-Staten Island connection... FOUR actors from New York based shows: Esai Morales of NYPD Blue; Bobby Cannavale from Third Watch"; Kevin James from King of Queens (CBS) and Robert Wuhl from Arli$$ (HBO)

On Saturday September 1st at 6PM, the Hollywood Allstars Celebrity Softball Team will challenge a team of 12-14 well-known New York Celebrity All-Stars in an exciting nine inning celebrity game to benefit Project ALS". This game will be played as a stand-alone event at Richmond County Bank Ballpark, the spectacular new stadium home of the Staten Island Yankees baseball team. All money generated from the sale of Hollywood Allstars game tickets and souvenir programs (with celebrity photos) will benefit Project ALS".

This fun & exciting family oriented event will feature a combination of 24 well known film, television & music personalities who are donating their time in support of Project ALS". After personally being diagnosed with A.L.S., theater and film producer Jenifer Estess founded Project ALS in 1998 to help raise awareness & money for research. In just over three years, Project ALS has already given over 6.5 million dollars directly to A.L.S. Research. When we solve the mystery of ALS, we will learn more about its sister diseases Parkinsons, Alzheimers and Huntingtons, which affect millions of Americans of all ages.

The Hollywood Allstars are a unique team of actors who are frustrated ball players and donate their time several weekends a year to travel coast to coast and challenge NFL, NHL & combined teams of professional athletes to play fun, but competitive softball games for worthwhile charities. The Hollywood Allstars have been the guests of two Presidents at the White House (1988 & 1994) and were invited by the Department of Defense to play as the opening ceremonies of the World Armed Forces Softball Championships".

Some of the most memorable games have allowed our celebrities to live their baseball fantasy by playing as a pre-game attraction in Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field and the Houston Astrodome. In 1994 Regis Philbin led a team of Hollywood Allstars to a victory over a team of Indy Car drivers as part of the Indy 500" festivities. In 1995 the Hollywood Allstars challenged Troy Aikman and his team of NFL All-Stars in Oklahoma City to raise $150,000 for the children who lost their parents in the Oklahoma City bombing.

In order to get the best available box or reserved seats for $8.00, fans are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance at the RCB ballpark ticket office, or reserve tickets by calling the Staten Island Yankees at (718) 720-Yanks. Fans can also buys tickets at Planet Hollywood in Times Square. Fans should bring a camera and arrive early to enter the stadium (gates open at 4:30 PM) so they can get close to their favorite stars to take pictures or request autographs during the pre-game warm-up.
