The awards are open to all journalists and publications covering business which are based between the Trent and Scottish border. Reporters and titles from the national, regional and local media are all eligible to enter and entries can be made in more than category. Submissions must have been published or broadcast between the beginning of June 2000 and the same stage of this year.
Entries must be received by Friday 28 September and the winners will be announced at a presentation dinner, which will also be upgraded this year. The dinner will take place at the Royal Station Hotel, in central Newcastle, on Thursday 15 November.
Commenting on this years awards scheme, Stuart Grimshaw, Yorkshire Banks Chief Executive, said: The Northern Business Journalist of the Year Awards are now an established feature of media life in the north of England. So, in order to recognise and reward the excellent standards of business journalism which exist in the region and encourage editors to devote even more time and space to business issues, we had no hesitation in making the scheme bigger and better than ever this year."
