Bark Busters Adds Two New Franchises in Colorado

DENVER -- Bark Busters, the innovative canine behavioral program developed in Australia by renowned dog behavioral therapists Sylvia and Danny Wilson, has started expanding its U.S. operations with two new franchises in the Denver metro area.

Imported to the United States by two Australian couples, Andrew and Lisa Brooke and Liam and Natalie Crowe, the Bark Busters concept has been embraced by clients and organizations that have retained the services of a Bark Buster therapist. Both new franchisees are former clients that decided to invest in the Bark Busters concept after the program worked to help control their own troubled animals.

Â“The bulk of our business is a result of referrals from clients that have tried Bark Busters and found that it really works,” said Andrew Brooke, President of Dingo, Inc., the U.S. branch of Bark Busters, International. “We have developed great relationships with the media in Colorado and have been featured prominently on television news programs such as Tom Martino’s Troubleshooter Consumer Guide program (FOX), and 9News(NBC), and in weekly business magazines along the Front Range.

Â“We are currently booked two weeks to a month in advance and the new offices will help alleviate some of the waits that our clients are currently experiencing. We anticipate adding five offices in Colorado over the next six months and plans are in the works to expand into other western states by Spring 2002.

Bark Busters helps clients understand their dogs and establish easier communication. All dogs will chew, run, nip, bark and enthusiastically jump, but with Bark Buster training, the dog learns appropriate behavior so it does what its owner wants.

Bark Busters’ fee includes a behaviorist that will visit a home and spend two hours with the dog and it’s owner, training both on how to correct the animal’s behavior.

The humane, non-physical training methods employ body language, voice tone techniques, and positive reinforcement using voice praise, with each session specifically geared to the temperament of each individual dog.

Â“Bark Busters’ proven method of training establishes a chain of command that starts and ends with the owner,” Brooke said. “We guarantee each session for the life of the dog. We will return free of charge, on an ongoing basis if needed, until the problem is fixed or if the problem returns. We have confidence in the system, and if an owner wants it to work and follows it consistently, we won’t have to return. It’s a guarantee we have no problem making.”

The Wilson’s have written several books on the subject of dog behavior control and produced a video called “Dally Says,” that helps children understand what an animal is thinking and feeling and teaches bite prevention.

All materials will be available through franchises and on the company’s web site at http://www.barkbusters.com.
