The Academy of Natural Therapies Releases New Courses on Cancer and Weight Loss

The Academy of Natural Therapies has recently added two courses in holistic treatment approaches of cancer and diet disorders.

September 17, 2001

The Academy of Natural Therapies, a global leader in alternative health education, announced the addition of two new courses to its Diploma and Bachelor of Science programs in Nutrition & Natural Therapies today. The new courses, "Alternative Approaches to Cancer" and "Weight Loss & Diet Disorders," are available to the general public and not just to enrolled students.

"Given the high rates of cancer in the world, particularly the West, as well as obesity, bulimia, and anorexia, we are pleased to make these in-depth courses available to all peoples," said Dr. Stephen Byrnes, the Academy's director.

"Alternative Approaches to Cancer" carefully guides the student through the maze of theories as to what actually causes cancer and, of course, the range of alternative therapies available to treat it, from nutritional supplements to herbs to homeopathy. "There is a great emphasis on prevention as well," said Byrnes. Special sections in the course notes and texts deal with coping with the damaging side effects of "conventional treatments" like chemotherapy.

"All thinking people interested in their and their family's health will want to take this course," Byrnes concluded. "We all need to know how to avoid and approach this scourge of the modern world."

"Weight Loss & Diet Disorders" deals with an equally perplexing set of problems faced by many today. The course examines the most popular diets of today and arrives at a sensible eating plan to insure optimal health, nutrition, and weight. Special sections of the course deal with more serious problems like food addictions, bulimia, and anorexia and holistic approaches to these serious challenges faced by so many of us today.

"People today have been dieted to death," said Byrnes. "Not only do we have unrealistic ideas as to what makes a person attractive, but we also have equally unrealistic solutions that are, frankly, dangerous. Our new course offers people a sensible and healthy way out of the confusion."

Those interested in taking the two new courses can do so by logging on to www.PowerHealth.net/degree_programs.htm and completing an online application to the Academy.

The Academy of Natural Therapies is an educational instrument of the RJFSRTC Corporation, located in Berely Hills, California. It offers advanced courses, diplomas, and degrees in Nutrition & Natural Therapies and has been accredited by the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (http://ionc.nutrenet.com) and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (http://www.aadp.net). Graduates of the Academy's doctoral program can also sit for the national certification exam in naturopathy offered by the American Naturopathic Medical Certification & Accreditation Board (http://www.anmcab.org).
