Albert Peterlin, United States Department of Agricultures Chief Meteorologist, retired, has incorporated a weather, water, climate and crop-consulting firm, ERREx, Inc. at 52 Old Farm Road, Camp Hill, Pa 17011. In response to the increasing number of weather forecasts available in every medium: print, radio and television, and seeing the number and type of forecasts increasing from the government, from private and public companies, as well as academic institutions, ERREx will work with firms to make sense of the torrent of complementary and sometimes competing information available from multiple sources. Rather than trying to drink from the hydrant of available information, ERREx highlights that trickle of useful information needed by successful and profitable firms within their decision making process.
While targeting the agricultural, construction, energy and distribution sectors, Peterlin will continue to provide on-air commentary on environmental issues. He is a regularly scheduled guest on RFD Illinois, an Illinois Farm Bureau Radio Network presentation each Monday morning.
ERREx, Inc stresses verification of weather and climate trends as well as crop progress and impact. Models remain the mainstay of modern forecasting practice, but at ERREX, future trends are grounded first in observational reality and then focused on the future.
ERREx is a Dynamic Predictables partner, providing mean monthly climate outlooks for a period of 6 months to one year. Temperature, precipitation, seas surface temperature, heating and cooling degree day site specific outlooks are provided for climate divisions and cities, in the United States and most foreign nations.
