Software Toolkit Provides LabVIEW Developers and Users with Real-Time Advanced Waterfall Plotting Capabilities
This press release describes a set of source code routines made available for LabVIEW
program developers and users. These routines provide sophisticated graphics for use in sound,
vibration, spectral measurement applications.
TORONTO, CANADA - January 2, 2002 - WaveSpectrum has developed a unique
LabVIEW based data visualization toolkit for advanced waterfall plotting applications.
The 'Waterfall Toolkit', available as a set of source code routines, provides developers with the
ability to integrate sophisticated displays of sound and vibration data into their applications.
Property adjustments can be made on-line and provide for interactive adjustments to the display.
Display Properties include lines, mesh, fill, bar graph, and frequency lines. All of these
modes can be plotted as one color, or as a multi-color amplitude dependant gradient.
Hidden line removal is also selectable.
Size, position, viewing angle, zoom, perspective and orthographic views are all
adjustable on-line. Any number of data labeled cursors can be plotted on the surface, and
have user-selectable colors.
Since the plot continuously updates in a back to front order, the data does not scroll, is
easier to read and reduces CPU usage. Applications include measurements of sound,
vibration, structural and spectrum analysis where on-line monitoring of data is required.
