Woodpeckers don't get headaches, or hangovers either. They don't deal with problems in the same old way. They move on to the next tree, drink very little, and have no 'mind."

This book focuses on solutions to everyday problems, which plague us all and make life much less enjoyable than it can be. Dr. Hardy says, Negative human traits are on a continuum and resurface in disguise; therefore, this book has no chapters." He recommends that you stop at your own places--make your spaces!" Adding, Remember, reframing enhances learning and is an important aspect of this work." Addiction of various types is one of our major social problems; emphasis is placed on aspects of addiction and woven throughout the book. Spiritualism and its positive health benefits are also emphasized. The book is formatted with sidebar descriptions that provide clarification and amplification for what is being read, been read, or is coming. These sidebars also offer tangential ideas.

The book covers a serious subject in a thoughtful and insightful manner, geared to the non-professional who may be seeking help for himself or herself or a loved one.

Dr. Richard E. Hardy has been licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in five states and served as a member of a state psychology examination board. He has also been a Diplomate Examiner for the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is Chairman and Professor Emeritus of Rehabilitation Counseling, Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and is the author/editor of many books and professional articles.
