Functional and Fashionable -- Contours new UniMouse Optical.
The latest addition to Contours Uni-family of Macintosh Accessories supports all USB Platforms.

Windham, NH January 10, 2002. - Contour Design, Inc. today, at MacWorld 2002 in San Francisco, announced and demonstrated its newest entry into USB Optical input devices --- the UniMouse Optical. A programmable three-button mouse, with the middle button doing double duty as a scroll wheel proves that input technology, ergonomic integrity, and exquisite design can be packaged into one high-quality device.

Contour originally responded to Apples initiatives in integrating USB technology into its G3/G4 and iMac platforms by introducing the colored UniMouse, with three buttons and downloadable drivers to allow programming of the buttons. The new UniMouse adds optical technology, the scrolling wheel asked for by a large number of UniMouse Customers, plus enhanced ergonomics and an even more elegant design.

Similar to the original UniMouse, the UniMouse Optical provides USB plug-and-play compatibility with PCs running Windows and with USB support. In the Macintosh arena, the UniMouse Optical supports OS X in native mode and supports scrolling in that arena.

Displayed at MacWorld on Contours popular ergonomic mouse "pad" -- the UniTray -- one show attendee was overheard remarking to a companion that "...its like playing air hockey, this mouse glides so smoothly over the UniTrays surface!"

According to Al Dworkin, Apple Solution Expert, "As a long-time Apple Macintosh® and Contour Mouse user, I appreciate the aesthetics both companies build into their products. The extraordinary UniMouse and the phenomenal new iMac -- what a combination! -- both fashionable and functional. It looks like they were architected to complement each other by the same industrial designer."

Pricing and Availability: UniMouse Optical is available at better computer retailers, on-line sources, and catalog resellers. The MSRP for the mouse is $34.95.

About Contour: Contour Design, Inc. was founded in 1995 and has been providing a continuous stream of ergonomic computer accessories since its inception. Its flagship product is the exceptionally popular and award-winning Perfit Mouse. Available in five right-hand and three left-hand models and supporting a wide variety of platform ports, it has recently been complemented by Contours RollerMouse Station.
