Most of Clickatells existing products focus on servicing SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) as well as corporate clients, allowing these businesses to send bulk SMS messages to multiple recipients, and enabling automated server-based messaging and alerts. Clickatell also sells SMS in bulk to many international SMS providers who resell these messages through their own front-end applications.

Clickatell Messenger-PRO, however, is designed to enable sms messaging with the same ease of use as sending an e-mail. Users are able to create recipient groups in an address book, view their message history, upload databases into the address book, and send individualised (mail-merged) messages to mobile phones at the click of a button. Initial feedback from the consumer market has been extremely positive, as the product clearly fills the void in the PC to mobile messaging market.

Messenger-PRO is already being used by corporate clients for marketing messages, staff updates and general SMS requirements, but Clickatells Managing Director, Pieter de Villiers, believes that the largest uptake will be from the consumer market.
