EDS Selects SeeBeyond for Enterprise-Wide, Global Integration Platform
Comprehensive Solution, Global Representation and Time-to-Market Make SeeBeyond the Right Choice for EDS

Singapore, January 15, 2002--Marking a major expansion of their global alliance, SeeBeyond and EDS today announced that EDS will use the SeeBeyond (tm) eBusiness Integration Suite as its backbone for corporate business systems, called Extended Enterprise Integration Backbone (EEIB), reducing the time and expense of systems maintenance and enabling the effective deployment of new applications.

The comprehensive, unified SeeBeyond suite encompasses application-to-application and business-to-business integration, as well as business process management capabilities. Serving as the foundation for EDS' EEIB, the integration suite supports a robust, message-based architecture to integrate applications to applications, applications to services and service to service in batch, near real-time and real-time delivery modes. Additionally, the SeeBeyond solution suite enables legacy systems and third-party systems to integrate more efficiently and reduces the time and expense of maintaining these interfaces.

SeeBeyond and EDS created a strategic alliance in February 2000 to deliver the next generation of electronic business solutions to clients seeking robust, fully integrated eBusiness capabilities. Since that time, EDS and SeeBeyond have provided eBusiness capabilities to more than 50 organizations around the world. Today's announcement reinforces the strength of this alliance and further underscores EDS' ability to create the best solutions to address specific needs.

~At EDS, we use on the inside what we sell on the outside. With the priority our clients place on integration, it was natural for us to look internally to assess our own integration needs,~ said Terry Milholland, EDS chief information and chief technology officer. ~We needed a proven solution that provided the essential components for eBusiness integration and also can be recommended to clients as well. This selection exemplifies the essence of our services delivery strategy of providing the best technology solution available.~

The EEIB is also providing a mechanism to abstract business information from application systems, a requirement that enables corporations to have a dynamic and fluid environment where legacy applications can retire, new applications can be added and legacy and new applications can co-exist loosely coupled, but highly integrated. EDS is expecting the EEIB to reduce the complexity and costs associated with point-to-point interfaces by implementing the ~submit once and deliver many~ model, while increasing flexibility around meeting the business needs of the digital economy.

~EDS' decision further demonstrates its confidence in SeeBeyond as a key global alliance partner, an equity investor and now as a customer,~ said Jim Demetriades, founder, president and CEO of SeeBeyond. ~We look forward to continued success with this relationship both internally for EDS and externally in the delivery of eBusiness Integration solutions to our clients.~
