LYNX Technologies, Inc., has announced the introduction of PriceSourceä, a structured pricing data feed designed specifically for use by carriers with existing internal pricing systems. PriceSourceä is the newest addition to LYNXs PriceConnectä family of products. PriceConnectä is a telecommunications database of rates and tariffs (representing 195 carriers in 164 countries) that can be used by carriers to quickly determine the cost of foreign domestic private lines.

FAIRFIELD NJ, January 14, 2002 -- LYNX Technologies, Inc., has announced the introduction of PriceSourceä, a structured pricing data feed designed specifically for use by carriers with existing internal pricing systems. PriceSourceä is the newest addition to LYNXs PriceConnectä family of products. PriceConnectä is a telecommunications database of rates and tariffs (representing 195 carriers in 164 countries) that can be used by carriers to quickly determine the cost of foreign domestic private lines.

LYNXs PriceSourceä interfaces with a carriers internal pricing system so that PriceConnectä pricing data can be added to the carriers own pricing data. PriceSourceä shortens the time needed to generate end-to-end prices, making sales cycles shorter. By bypassing conventional pricing processes, salespeople and sales support teams can save days or weeks when responding to customers inquiries. This saves time, reduces the likelihood that the customer will approach a competitor while waiting, and reduces the manpower needed to provide quality pricing support," said Thomas Bookwalter, President of LYNX Technologies.

PriceSourceä provides data on foreign domestic in-country leased line access costs, enabling carriers to quickly price the foreign access portion of International PLCs, Frame Relay, VPN and ATM services. The PriceSourceä database is delivered monthly as an Access file that can be easily converted into a number of other database platforms (such as Oracle). Accompanying documentation describes each field, its format, content and use.

Each providing carrier has its own pricing structure, which is interpreted in a set of rules that describe how the data elements combine to create a price for foreign domestic private lines. In addition, LYNX also provides support during the development process, in order to ensure that the algorithms are interpreting the data correctly.
