Winalysis Software Releases Winalysis 2.90

This press release announces a new version (2.90)of a software product for Windows called Winalysis.

Arlington, MA. January 15, 2002 -- Winalysis Software today launched version 2.90 of its flagship product, Winalysis, a security auditing tool for Microsoft Windows®. With Winalysis you can take computer snapshots, analyze changes, restore systems, monitor eventlogs, audit user accounts and generate alerts and SNMP traps when critical events occur.

Winalysis is an integrated set of security tools that you install once on a management station. The software can monitor local and remote computers without installing Winalysis on the remote machines. This makes Winalysis easy to maintain and update without introducing any new security holes on your network. Winalysis can snapshot files, the registry, users, groups, security policies, services, shares, scheduled jobs, and more. The program can tell you what's changed on a system with a single mouse click. It can also restore your system from a snapshot and undo that restore at a later time.

Winalysis includes 17 user account audit reports. These reports can be used to audit Active Directory and/or NT/2000 Domain Controllers. The audit reports can be customized or you can create your own. So if you have hundreds of users and you want to find all privileged accounts that have no password, simply define a new report and run it. All reports can be output to HTML or XML.

Winalysis can also monitor the event log, optionally generating SNMP traps when critical events are detected. The program allows you to rank events as critical, warning, information or ignore and to filter reports based on rank (e.g. show me only critical events).

Winalysis 2.90 includes new features that allow you to restore files and the registry from snapshots. All restore operations can be undone at any time. In addition, this new release allows you to monitor for changes to files using a 160-bit SHA-1 digital signature algorithm. Winalysis 2.90 also includes some major improvements in its SNMP trap implementation and now allows you to define your own messages for any event.
