Workhouse Publicity to produce Celebrity Benefit (LA)

The 24 Hour Plays to Benefit the NY State WTC Relief Fund

LOS ANGELES- Details Magazine and Ebel USA in association with The 24 Hour Company, Planet Impact and Workhouse Publicity proudly announce a special performance of the 24 Hour Plays to aid the NY State WTC Relief Fund. The next edition of the 24 Hour Plays will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 24th, 2002 at 8pm at the Henry Fonda Theater located on 6126 Hollywood Blvd.

Six brand new plays will be written, cast, rehearsed and performed in a single day. Featuring an all-new line up of performers, writers and directors, the producers of this special benefit hope to raise additional funds for the families and victims of September 11th. The Los Angeles Production includes such notables as Seth Green, Gil Bellows, Mila Kunis, Portia Di Rossi, Ione Skye, Jeffrey Jones, Neil LaBute, Adam Goldberg, Brooke Smith, Donovan Leitch, Morgan J Freeman, Jared Harris, Adam Nelson, Gina Phillips, Sarah Silverman and Frank Pugliese. The New York City Benefit raised over $30, 000 in ticket sales alone (not including individual and corporate donations).

The benefit was performed before a sold-out audience which included Robert DeNiro, Kevin Bacon, Bobby Zarem and Bart Freundlich. The New York City Benefit featured performances by Benjamin Bratt, Billy Crudup, Drena DeNiro, Jared Harris, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Scarlett Johansson, Catherine Kellner, Robert Sean Leonard, Sam Rockwell, Natasha Lyonne, Julianne Moore, Adam Nelson, Mary-Louise Parker, Rosie Perez, Liev Schreiber, Kyra Sedgwick, Brendan Sexton, Fisher Stevens, Marisa Tomei, and Lili Taylor who appeared under the direction of Tom Gilroy, Itamar Kubovy, Pippin Parker, Gregory Mosher, Seth Rosenfeld, Anna Strasberg, in six short plays, each written by Nicole Burdette, Tamara Jenkins, Richard LaGravenese, Warren Leight, Chris Shinn, and Frank Pugliese less than a day before the curtain was raised. Benefit tickets cost $100/ $75/ $50 and will be available through TicketMaster. To purchase tickets please call (213) 365-3500 or (714) 740-7878. Tickets are also available through the Henry Fonda box office and associated Los Angeles TicketMaster locations. The proceeds will be directed to the NY State WTC Relief Fund. An exclusive After Party will take place at Deep located on 1707 N Vine Street immediately following the performance only with purchase of $100 tickets.
