Have text read aloud as you type. Madoogali has released version 2.1 of Key2Speak
Key2Speak uses speech synthesis technology to read aloud what you type, as you type it. This can be helpful for numerous reasons, including checking the grammatical correctness of what you write, or simply to know what you typed without looking up from your keyboard.
Madoogali LLC has released Version 2.1 of Key2Speak - A powerful Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP utility program.
Key2Speak uses speech synthesis technology to read aloud what you type, as you type it. This can be helpful for numerous reasons, including checking the grammatical correctness of what you write, or simply to know what you typed without looking up from your keyboard.
The program works with all Windows applications including word processors, email clients, instant messengers and web browsers. The program operates on the fly, offering immediate feedback as youre composing.
Various settings allow you to configure the program to your own personal preferences. Several voices are included, with many more available to download free from the Key2Speak website (above). The pitch, speed and volume of all voices can be defined.
The Settings panel also includes a set of delimiters that let you specify exactly when text is read aloud. For example, you can hear text word-by-word, sentence-by-sentence, or even paragraph-by-paragraph.
Along with reading text as you type, Key2Speak can also read text from the clipboard, allowing it to be used to read documents, web pages, emails and much more. Alternatively, should you require, Key2Speak can be set to read text as individual characters.
A fully functional trial version is available to the public at http://www.key2speak.com. The program registration is only US$ 19.95 for a single-user license.
