WORLDS OLDEST SNACK FOOD SEEKS PRESIDENTIAL PARDON...The Pretzel Wants to Reclaim Symbol of Love and Romance

In honor of Valentines Day, the Pretzel seeks to reclaim its name and reputation by receiving a Presidential Pardon from George W. Bush.

CHICAGO -- January 23, 2002 - Through a strange twist of fate, the beloved Pretzel which dates back to 610 A.D. and came to America on the Mayflower has become an international punchline. Instead of a symbol of good luck, long life and good health, history will remember the Pretzel as attempting to topple the President of the United States.

In honor of Valentines Day, the Pretzel seeks to reclaim its name and reputation by receiving a Presidential Pardon from George W. Bush.

Its been said that the term Tying the Knot" originated when royal couples wished for happiness with a pretzel forming the nuptial knot -- much like we use a wishbone today," said Susan A. Weiss, owner of Chicago based, My Sisters Pretzels. If the President can pardon a turkey for Thanksgiving, he can certainly pardon the Pretzel in time for Valentines Day."

About My Sisters Pretzels
The origin of My Sisters Pretzels began when a pretzel maker" was bestowed as a childhood gift, rather than the much coveted Easy Bake Oven." Years later, the older sister showed the younger sister the joys of combining the sweet taste of chocolate with the salty taste of the pretzel, adding flavors and toppings for just the right twist. Customer favorites include hand-dipped chocolate/peanut butter, chocolate/mint and chocolate/cherry.
