AMD today announced that Pinnacle Systems has optimized its renowned professional digital video editing software for the AMD Athlon MP processor. Designed for multiprocessing and multithreaded applications, the AMD Athlon MP processor delivers the performance and flexibility demanded in the server and workstation environment, supporting the requirements of commercial video editing users with benefits such as enhanced productivity, shorten production cycles and reduce costs. FASTstudio.DV was the first Pinnacle Systems software product designed to take advantage of AMD Smart MP technology for systems using dual AMD Athlon MP processors.
Designed for multiprocessing and multithreaded applications, the AMD Athlon MP processor delivers the performance and flexibility demanded in the server and workstation environment, supporting the requirements of commercial video editing users. Smart MP technology features dual, independent, point-to-point buses and an exemplary cache management system, allowing data to be transferred in a more efficient manner. With more performance from the second processor in combination with AMD Socket A platform, Smart MP technology allows professional users of FASTstudio.DV to gain a significant performance benefit.

About the AMD Athlon MP Processor
The AMD Athlon MP processor is a seventh-generation x86 processor designed for high-performance multiprocessing servers and workstations.

A key advantage of AMD multiprocessing platform is Smart MP technology, which greatly enhances overall platform performance by increasing data movement between the two CPUs, chipset and memory system.
