Software Development Company Neuxpower has released NXPowerLite v1.3, a tool that automatically reduces the file size of Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations by optimising the graphics and embedded documents. NXPowerLite intelligently selects images that can be made smaller and uses fully customisable settings to compress them.

Free trial versions of the software are available to download from the product website at http://www.nxpowerlite.com. The program is only 261k and doesn't need to be installed, allowing it to be rapidly downloaded and used.
