Sanbolic, Inc. partners with EDN Storage Technology AB
Sanbolic announces partnership with Swedish distributor and systems integratorEDN.
Watertown, Massachusetts, January 28, 2002, Sanbolic, Inc. developer and manufacturer of software solutions for storage networks today announced that they have signed an agreement with EDN, distributor and integrator, to resell their products in Scandinavia.
EDN resell SAN parts such as servers, storage and software through a network of partners throughout Scandinavia, primarily in Sweden. As of January 2002, EDN is starting to market and sell complete SAN solutions that have been tested and certified in their labs, through their reseller network. The SANs that include hardware and Sanbolic software have been created to help ensure product-to-product compatibility and to deliver simplified solutions to the entertainment, educational and imaging markets.
Working with EDN brings us closer to the final customers as they have close relationships with end users. Their initiative to provide the market with 'plug-n-play SANs, will make their sales, installation and support process easier, and increase the understanding of SAN benefits and therefore customer satisfaction. We are very pleased that EDN have chosen to include our software in their solutions", says Eva Helén, VP of Business Development at Sanbolic.
We are very pleased that Sanbolic has chosen EDN as their partner on the Scandinavian market. This gives EDN the possibility to offer advanced software solutions for storage area networks to a broader range of customers, says Roland Hansson Business Area Manager at EDN.
Sanbolic and EDN will provide solutions to meet the increasing requirements of sharing data in different environments. Sanbolics volume sharing software allows multiple servers to access the same data from a shared storage. Examples of where data sharing is required is in workgroup environments that require file sharing over networks, with different users needing to access the same information, as well as in Internet and other data distribution environments, while trying to avoid data replication and to minimize hardware and operating expenses. It is especially critical when large files are involved, such as images, sound and video. Data sharing also becomes an important part when companies merge with other companies and data stored in multiple incompatible storage systems is merged on existing hardware, or when the power of a single server is not enough and multiple servers must share the load and execute in parallel.
