eMarketing Association announces new Certified eMarketing Associate CeMA) Level 2

New certification level reconizes college students and professionals.

January 25, 2002 -- (LOS ANGELES, CA) - The eMarketing Association (eMA) today announced the addition of a new level to its Certified eMarketing Associate (CeMA) Program. The program, which provides certifications for high school and college students in eMarketing, debuted in Utah public schools last year in September. CeMA level 2 is designed for college students and marketing professionals.

Robert Fleming, President of the eMarketing Association said, "This is a significant event in eMarketing. There are over 350 technical certifications available in many of our nation's colleges, yet virtually none in e-marketing. The eMA is the also accreditation body for the Certified eMarketer (CeM) program for working professionals with experience in Internet marketing. The CeM program is recognized around the world as a significant marketing credential.

The CeMA program involves students taking an examination, which covers current aspects of e-marketing and online/offline marketing integration. Robert Fleming, president of the eMA said, There is a significant increase in companies marketing via the Internet, and multi-channel but relatively few students are graduating with these essential competencies. Level two is significantly advanced over level one certification and recognizes the skills and competencies necessary to compete in todays digital environment."

.     According to a study by the University of Texas, 33% of all Internet related jobs are in marketing and only 28% are in IT.
