Howorth Pharma, the dedicated pharmaceutical division within Howorth Airtech, has acquired Advanced Containment Limited a new company specialising in the design and supply of high quality powder handling and process containment equipment. ACL founder, Darren Garvey, has joined Howorth as business development manager within their Advanced Containment Systems unit to extend the company's capability in the safe handing of bulk solids.

Howorth Pharma, the dedicated pharmaceutical division within Howorth Airtech, has acquired Advanced Containment Limited a new company specialising in the design and supply of high quality powder handling and process containment equipment. ACL founder, Darren Garvey, has joined Howorth as business development manager within their Advanced Containment Systems unit to extend the company's capability in the safe handing of bulk solids.
In addition to applications in pharmaceuticals, advanced containment systems are equally suitable for use in fine chemicals and food processing applications. "The systems are generally used for filling and emptying IBC's and other bulk containers where a high integrity seal is paramount in providing optimum levels of operator and product protection. The combination of ACL's innovative product design coupled with Howorth's manufacturing resource and enclosure expertise, ensures that we provide containment equipment with an emphasis on ease of use, cleanability and improved airflow," explained Darren.
Darren Garvey's experience in this field spans 18 years. This includes four years as sales manager with Extract Technology and 14 years with Hosokawa Scott in various roles, including international sales manager. He is a member of the ISPE where Howorth seized the opportunity of launching the alliance at their annual meeting in Las Vegas.
When not wrestling with engineering problems, Darren, who lives in Haslingden, with his wife and two children is a keen sportsman. Horse riding and diving are his main forms of relaxation.
