Ixia and Tyco Electronics jointly provide the worlds first platform for both XAUI interoperability and performance testing

Utilizing Tyco Electronics XAUI HM-Zd interoperability backplane, Ixia provides a highly flexible traffic generation and analysis solution, which includes support for IEEE 802.3ae Continuous Jitter Pattern (CJPAT) and Continuous Random Pattern (CRPAT). For the first time, developers of XAUI devices are able to conduct interoperability testing as well as performance testing all within a single platform.

Ixia's XAUI testers are compliant to the latest draft of the IEEE 802.3ae standards and provide additional support for Bit Error Rate Testing (BERT). The Ixia XAUI BERT tester is programmable to be concatenated for single pattern and statistics over all four channels or channelized for independent patterns and statistics on each of the four channels. Ixias XAUI performance analysis solutions are designed to assist developers of Quad SerDes, LAN and WAN PHYs with a XAUI interface, XENPAK transceiver modules and switch and router line cards being developed for XENPAK.
