NEW YORK- Rocky Aoki cordially invites you to celebrate the reappointment of Kenneth J Podziba as Sports Commissioner of New York City. Join Rocky Aoki and Benihana in honoring Mr. Podziba and his work attracting professional and amateur athletic events to New York City since 1998. Highlighted by an exclusive menu tasting prepared by Benihana chefs, the evening will benefit The Achilles Track Club (ATC) through donations and raffle opportunities. Founded by Dick Traum and Robert Glover in 1983, The Achilles Track Club was established to encourage disabled people to participate in long-distance running with the general public. An international, nonprofit organization that provides support, training, and technical expertise to runners at all levels, Achilles includes people with all kinds of disabilities, such as visual impairment, stroke, cerebral palsy, paraplegia, arthritis, amputation, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, cancer, traumatic head injury, and many others. Runners participate with crutches, in wheelchairs, on prostheses, and without aids. The New York City Sports Commission was founded in 1986 and sponsors a variety of amateur athletic events in the five boroughs. Mr. Podziba previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration for the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission where he was responsible for overseeing revenue and administrative services functions.
