OKSANA: The Siberian Siren of the Piano"
St. Petersburg, FL -- January 31, 2002. After a string of successful performances and impressive academic achievements across the state of Florida, 23-year old pianist and composer OKSANA KOLESNIKOVA is well on her way to international stardom. A native of Altai Siberia, Russia and resident of St. Petersburg since 1993, FL, OKSANA is now being requested for Live appearances in Italy, Germany, Holland and France, as well as LIVE on the Internet.
OKSANA, who graduated last August with honors from the prestigious School of Music of Florida State University, is becoming increasingly popular among young and mature audiences as a piano virtuoso and modern composer whose music has the power to reach out to people's hearts and evoke intense emotions of love, melancholy or joy, as the music commands. With each of her works composed during specific moments of great sentimental importance, OKSANA faithfully reproduces in her music the passionate sensations felt while composing - and successfully transfers them to her audiences.
OKSANA's performances are always delivered with fiery passion and with the sensuality of a graceful and cultured young woman. With a perfectly memorized repertoire consisting of over three hours of challenging works from Beethoven to Billy Joel, OKSANA bedazzles her audiences with the concert grand piano and electronic keyboard.
"PEACE" is the song she composed the morning of the September 11 attack, when, behind closed doors and unaware of what was happening to America, she felt compelled to write this highly emotional melody, whose dramatic passages reflect the sequence of the tragic events amazingly well. She dedicated this song to the families of the 9/11 victims and plans to perform a private concert just for them in the near future. On her wedding day in July 2000, facing an emotional audience of close family and friends, OKSANA sat at the piano of the Palladium Theater and, almost as to symbolize a "double marriage," she played "The Voice of Life," the hauntingly beautiful composition she had written for that occasion and dedicated to her husband/manager Alessandro Giovanni Concas.
OKSANA has recently been offered the opportunity to record her upcoming CD with a major label and is due to meet with her main sponsors in Miami and California in the near future for further developments. The versatile artist is also creating an elegant modeling calendar and a dynamic music video, to be released along with her new CD next year. OKSANA's first recording, a self-titled collection of classical masterpieces, has become an item of interest especially among those who foresee OKSANA's career skyrocketing to the international scene. OKSANA" can be purchased at BORDERS Books & Music and at several online music stores.
