Finalists will play in the live tournament in an attempt to win the guaranteed first prize of $1,000,000 -- the largest ever in online poker history. The online semi-finals begin today and run through Monday, February 4, at which time the 100 finalists will be announced.

The PartyPoker.com Million finals will take place from March 10-17, 2002. The 100 online qualifying finalists will join many of the world's top poker players, as well as other paid entrants, on a Mexican Riviera cruise aboard a Carnival cruise ship to play for the $1,000,000 guaranteed first prize. World-renowned poker champion and founder of the Tournament of Champions, Mike Sexton, will host the weeklong tournament.

The semi-finals will consist of two rounds of play beginning at 8 p.m. EST. Round 1 consists of 200 tables, and winners from this round advance on to Round 2, consisting of only 20 tables. Each player is given $1,000 - $3,000 in chips in Round 1, depending on bonus points accrued from earlier play, and $1,000 in chips for Round 2. Semi-finalist winners advance on to the cruise March 10-17 to compete for the $1,500,000 total prize pool.
