QCSI Unveils aQHealth 1.0 at HIMSS 2002
New web-based service gives providers, employers, and members instant access to health care information
PHOENIX, Ariz -- Quality Care Solutions, Inc., (QCSI), a leading provider of information technology software and services for health care payers, unveiled its new Web-based health care information portal, aQHealth, at the 2002 Health care Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in Atlanta.
Built on QCSIs core QMACS application, aQHealth is a Web-based service designed to increase administrative efficiencies and reduce customer service and support costs for health plans. It gives customers of health plans direct access to their health plan information over the Internet. This new service increases customer satisfaction by enabling payers to serve their members, employer groups, and providers more quickly and efficiently.
aQHealth also adjudicates claims for same-day payment, delivers online authorizations and eligibility verification, and automates repetitive customer service tasks-all through a standard, secure Web browser.
Adoption of Web technology in health care market has been traditionally slow," says Gregory S. Anderson, president and CEO of QCSI. He points to a May 2001 study by Cap Gemini, How Health Plans Are Using the Internet, that says only 25 percent of surveyed health plans allow members to enroll or change physicians online. Furthermore, the study indicated that only about a quarter of health plans allow two-way claims adjudication over the Internet.
This slow-to-change ideology in the health care market will change as more effective, integrated solutions, such as aQHealth, are offered, continues Anderson. More and more, health plans are looking to the Internet to offer customers 24/7, real-time access to health care information, thereby streamlining communication, increasing efficiency and improving customer satisfaction."
