XandMail Partners with Prolan to Deploy its Messaging Solution to TCO, Brazils Fastest Growing Telecom Operator

XandMail Announces the Signature of a Partnership with Prolan, Brazils High-End Systems Integrator, and the Sale of its XUbiMail HTTP Mail Engine to TCO (Tele Centro Oeste)

Paris -- 1st February, 2001: XandMail, a worldwide supplier in universal messaging applications for Telcos, xSPs, Portals, UM Providers, and OEMs, extends its presence in Brazil by deploying its mass market messaging applications to TCO (Tele Centro Oeste), providing fixed and wireless e-mail access to TCO customers.

The synergy of the partnership between XandMail and Prolan demonstrates the two companies commitment to provide the Brazilian market with more comprehensive and extensible, best-of-breed messaging solutions in the fast-paced Internet economy.

"Adding XandMail to our list of technology partners gives us an important advantage for the deployment of advanced messaging solutions for Telecoms and Internet operators in Brazil. The integration capabilities of XandMail front-end applications gives our customers a head-start on the creation of future-proof, value-added messaging services for their users " said Pedro Grael, Telecom Applications Manager for Prolan.

The new system will provide TCO customers with an intuitive and fully featured messaging service, accessible via wired and wireless devices. TCO has today over 2 million customers across the Brazilian territory, and expects data to represent up to 20% of the traffic over its networks in 2002.

"The flexibility of the platform created by XandMail and Prolan has not only saved us money in the short run -- by eliminating the need to create dedicated platforms for each different access mode -- but it has also made us comfortable in the long run, by giving us the security of XandMails future-proof technology, developed by a company with a strong track-record on the deployment of large-scale, mission critical, messaging services", concludes a technician from TCO.

TCO benefits from the security of scalable and robust market proven software, currently used by some of the most prestigious telecom operators in the world. The same software provides multi-access to standard mailboxes, maximizing stability and efficiency, and simplifying administration. The openness of XandMail software allows the operator to gradually roll out new services, integrating new modules and applications as they see fit, building a messaging environment that is always on the edge of innovation.

We offer a value-added messaging application technology that brings our customers the ability to rapidly deploy new services and offers" adds Xavier Cournault, President, CEO and co-founder of XandMail. Our XUbiMail software is an enabling element in TCOs powerful services environment. Coupled with Prolans strong local presence and its experienced team of professionals, we shall be able to provide the highest possible quality of service for the Brazilian market."

The partnership between XandMail and Prolan gives both companies a strong advantage on the Brazilian market for large-scale messaging implementations. While enriching its portfolio with XandMails highly scalable, customizable and fully localized messaging applications, Prolan provides XandMail with an important local presence and a team of highly experienced professionals.
