Covigo adds Offline Capabilities to its Highly Acclaimed Multi-channel Application Platform
Software Vendors and Systems Integrators Can Now Embrace J2ME, Wireless & Voice with Significantly Lower Resource and Time Commitments
Santa Clara, Calif., January 28, 2002 -- Covigo, Inc., the emerging leader in multi-channel application platforms, today announced the availability of the Covigo Platform version 3.0. Covigo Platform powers smart software applications across multiple channels (Web, wireless and voice) and multiple modes (real-time, offline and alerts).
The launch of version 3.0 is a major step towards reaching our objective of being the driving force of multi-channel evolution," said Stuart Bagshaw, CEO of Covigo. Based on standards such as J2EE, J2ME, xHTML, VoiceXML and design patterns such as Model-View-Controller, Covigo powers applications that can leverage laptops, desktops, handheld devices, smartphones, pagers and voice-only telephones."
Covigo enables software vendors and systems integrators to provide enterprises and carriers with workflow-based multi-channel applications without having to build separate applications for voice, wireless, offline or the Web. The complexity of enabling mobility requires software vendors and systems integrators to seek a solution that speeds time-to-market and lowers the cost of ownership for their software offerings. We provide that solution."
One of Covigos newest customers in the United Kingdom, Fast Web Media is launching an SMS application for their 4thegame.com brand, which is the official Barclaycard Premiership website, using Covigo 3.0. "Covigo makes it easy for us to add new business channels for increased revenue and customer loyalty," said Nick Preece, Business Development Manager for Fast Web Media Ltd.
Stephen Jones, VP of Engineering at PointBase stated, Java technology is rapidly becoming the platform of choice for building and deploying applications for mobile devices. PointBase provides RDBMS and data synchronization software on these devices, enabling disconnected use. Covigos offline solution enables organizations to develop J2ME and pJava applications utilizing a workflow-based paradigm. Together these products provide a complete and very powerful mobility solution."
Kamran Ozair, CTO at MindTree Consulting stated, "Covigo has a unique and highly value-added approach to integrating interaction workflow with J2ME, voice, wireless and alerts. Enterprises and operators looking to provide transactional multi-channel experiences to their employees and customers should take a close look at Covigo's offering."
In a related announcement earlier this month, Covigo announced the completion of an additional round of financing from Nokia Venture Partners and Norwest Venture Partners. Covigo will continue to be highly focused on its partner-based business model, including licensing the Covigo Platform to infrastructure software and enterprise applications vendors. In addition, Covigo will continue to provide its software to leading systems integrators for use in multi-channel implementations.
Covigo Platform 3.0 Key Benefits
The Covigo Platform 3.0 brings a tightly integrated, fully automated approach to managing the multi-channel application lifecycle.
