Jay Bhakta, Vice President of Engineering, said, Netlist's 1 GB DDR module achieves full electrical compliance with the JEDEC DDR specification without using stacked chips or stacked boards".
While most manufacturers resort to stacked components or expensive BGA packages to achieve higher density, Netlists 1GB module uses off-the-shelf TSOPs and a standard manufacturing process.
This results in significant cost structure advantages relative to competitive solutions. Also by eliminating additional components and processes associated with stacking, our products display higher quality and reliability".

The key to this elegant design lies with our patent pending PCB design/layout technology called BP-Bilateral Symmetry". This technology allows us to layout the traces more efficiently and move the ICs farther away from the pins and still achieve the faster data signals needed to process the Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAMs".
A 2-inch DIMM is particularly useful in next-generation blade servers that frequently have only one memory slot with limited space. It also fits in 1U servers with a standard 25-degree, angled socket, as well as server systems 2U and higher.
