KURANT SELECTED AS A "GREAT YOUNG COMPANY TO WATCH IN 2002" BY GOLDEN STATE CAPITAL NETWORK

SAN FRANCISCO -- February 11, 2002 -- Kurant Corporation, the leading provider of e-business software infrastructure for organizations that serve the small and medium-size business market, has been selected by the Golden State Capital Network as a "Great Young Company to Watch in 2002."

Kurant was one of only nine companies chosen from a field of more than 250 Golden State Capital Network alumni firms. Selection criteria included the companys ability to raise capital, attract significant partnerships and customers, and, most importantly, its potential for success moving forward. Kurant will be honored at the opening evening reception on Monday, February 11 during the Golden State Venture Capital Conference and Entrepreneur Expo, February 11-12, 2001 at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Park Hotel in Sacramento.

"As a GSCN alumnus, Kurant sets a positive example for other start-up companies to follow," said Jon Gregory, CEO and President of Golden State Capital Network. "Despite the challenging climate of 2001, Kurant continued to raise funds, innovate their product and win in their market space. They did this by staying focused on the fundamentals and making smart decisions about their business. We applaud Kurant's achievements thus far and look forward to their continued success."

This distinction is the latest in a series of successes for Kurant, including the completion in January of its Series C round of financing. StoreSense, the company's award-winning e-business platform, has garnered more editorial and industry awards than any other product in its space. The company's list of partners includes such industry leaders as Intuit and Homestead Technologies, while Global 500 corporations such as Bank One and Cable & Wireless now offer StoreSense-powered e-business services to their SMB customers.

"We are honored to be chosen by Golden State Capital Network as a great young company," said Curtis Pierce, CEO of Kurant. "GSCN plays a critical role in promoting entrepreneurial endeavor in California. As a 'graduate,' we can attest to the benefits a relationship with GSCN can bring. Their support and assistance has been invaluable."
