Welfare to Work Training GURU launches Workforce Website

Announcement of Website Launch for www.Lindachatmon.com

Now Serving Cleveland, OH

Feb. 6, 2002: Today, Linda Chatmon, Former President and Executive Director of POWER Job and Life Skills Training Center launched www.LindaChatmon.com, a website dedicated to serving the workforce development needs of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).

Nationally recognized for her demonstrated ability in successfully moving women from welfare to work, LindaChatmon continues to maintain a 100% job placement rate among graduates of her POWER program, which was created in 1997, the height of Welfare Reform.

As a result of a personal crisis which she shares on www.LindaChatmon.com, Linda Chatmon has successfully applied the principles of POWER to yet another disadvantaged group; non-violent ex-offenders, and amazingly has maintained the same 100% job placement rate. With a staff of four (4) that includes a marketing representative, two (2) job/participant recruiters, and trainer, LindaChatmon.com provides a one-stop approach to workforce development

"POWER is a program that re-creates core value system changes by pointing out to the participant that what they are doing is obviously not working. That in essence, if you keep doing the same old thing, you will keep getting the same old results. Changing the behavior is not enough, you must change the core belief that made them think it was beneficial to begin with. That's what makes us different, we get to the core of the problem. Our focus is not merely to put people in jobs, it's to change people's lives. In order to do that, we have got to change the way they think about living" says Linda Chatmon, owner www.LindaChatmon.com

"Service providers and One-Stop Shops serving the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) are facing a tremendous challenge with job development as a result of the slow down in the economy. This challenge is a provocative one filled with opportunities to serve in new ways. I am confident that LindaChatmon.com can meet this challenge, maintain existing criteria for performance, and service the needs of WIA, the community, and to those it serves."
