Miami (February 6, 2002) -- Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (AMEX: TWW), a global leader in facilitating Internet connectivity and providing Internet infrastructure and managed services, announced today that Intrado Inc. (NasdaqNM: TRDO) signed a multi-year contract with Terremarks NAP of the Americas. Intrado, the nations leading provider of solutions that manage and deliver mission-critical information for telecommunications providers and public safety organizations, will utilize Terremarks facilities and infrastructure as a data center for their wide range of data management and application hosting services, as well as a colocation point with its major national carrier customers.
Intrado pioneered critical 9-1-1 data management, call routing and location services and is a leading developer of technology that responds to the requirements of wireline, wireless and non-traditional communications. Today the company provides 9-1-1, safety and commercial services to the majority of major telecommunications providers in the U.S., both wireline and wireless, as well as state and local government agencies and public safety answering points (PSAPs).
We are preparing to strengthen our leadership position in the marketplace by introducing a National Repository Line Level Database (NRLLDB) for telco carrier billing and record maintenance and a new MPC/Location Platform for wireless carriers as well as expand the capacity and capabilities of our Emergency Warning and Evacuation platform (EWE)," said Stephen Meer, Intrado co-founder and CTO. We believe the NAP of the Americas offers the exemplary security, flexibility and carrier-class infrastructure we require to support these initiatives, as well as our current data management services. In addition, we view the Florida site and the NAPs Tier-1 status as a springboard into the Latin American market."
The NAP of the Americas, which presently boasts 61 customers, is the only Tier-1 NAP designed and built from the ground up as a carrier-neutral facility offering state-of-the-art peering, a full menu of network based managed services and premier colocation.
It speaks volumes for our facility that the nations leading provider of 9-1-1 services has decided to locate its mission-critical equipment in the NAP of the Americas," said Manuel D.
